Yanofsky Residence, Newton, MA, 1956

“The Yanofsky house, though, is small in scale (2,600 square feet) and modest in materials, with four long walls faced in white-painted plywood creating a pinwheel-like plan. Outdoor terraces and a carport spin off a central living room with a high ceiling that is ringed by bedrooms, a study and a dining area. Outside, the dominant metaphor is a nautical one, emphasized by black wooden vine supports that look like outriggers.”

Lange, Alexandra. “Once a Teardown, a Modernist Gem Is Reborn.” New York Times November 2, 2006, (Late Edition (East Coast)) ed., sec. F: 6.
