AbstractRudolph is quite outspoken in this paper delivered at the Banff Session on Architecture in 1958. He is critical of a number of high-profile projects. He also makes this interesting point in his remarks on automobiles. "Of course the greatest gathering place of them all is the Piazza San Marco where vehicular traffic comes only to the perimeter. I am sure that this, in principle, will have increasing meaning for us in the automobile age."
