Art and Architecture Building, Yale University, New Haven, CT, 1958-1964

York and Chapel Streets, New Haven, CT. This building is Paul Rudolph's most well-known work. Controversial from the start, it is a structure that generates a wide range of opinion. It is currently undergoing a sympathetic restoration under the guidance of Robert A. M. Stern, Dean of the school of architecture at Yale. The architect for the project is Charles Gwathmey, of Gwathmey Siegel & Associates Architects. Sid R. Bass is a primary donor. The work on the A & A is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2008 and be renamed "Paul Rudolph Hall."
